Temporary roles

WORK WITH US

We're hiring

We've got a big task ahead of us over the next few months through to November 2021 - supporting 400 young people with our employability and mentoring programme.

In doing so, we've committed to change the way we work to increase the job opportunities UpRising itself has for young people - especially those most likely to benefit from Stand Out itself.

We therefore have:

  • Three 4-month long part-time roles with an attendant package of training and support, as part of our recruitment and programme delivery team. We can promise you a friendly, enjoyable and supportive environment, help and support both through Stand Out itself and our staff team, and the chance to learn a range of new skills - from tech tools through to our modern project management approach.
  • Up to 15 roles as part of our street teams, supporting face-to-face recruitment from 9 - 11 August at specific locations in Bedford, Birmingham, London and Manchester. You'll automatically be enrolled on Stand Out as part of this, too.

If that sounds of interest to you please email Hafsa - our Operations Officer - to find out more, or to submit your CV.

  • What's the time commitment?

The short-term 4 month roles are available for 20 - 25 hrs a week. We've designed the roles that way to ensure that you've got time to focus on your wider career and life goals, and so that you can also get the most from the Stand Out programme.

The roles supporting face-to-face recruitment offer 22.5 hrs in total over the period 9 - 11 August.

  • What training and support is available?

We'll provide you with a laptop if you don't have one already, and for the recruitment assistants will provide you with a phone.

In addition, you'll automatically be awarded a free place on our Stand Out programme. Stand Out is the programme to help you find a job if you are aged 18-25. It is a collection of carefully curated online sessions all available to rewatch and catch up with whenever you like. From social gatherings, to meeting with employers to resilience workshops, it has everything you need to help you find a job, all in one place plus your own mentor for upto 12 months.

As a key member of UpRising's team over the next few months, you'll also learn how to use key tools such as Slack, Trello, Zoom and Mural, as well as being a part of an "agile" team - click here to read more, an approach valued by many employers in the light of the need to adapt flexibly to the changes of the past 12 - 18 months.

  • What next?

In the first instance, please either send Hafsa an email at hr@uprising.org.uk to arrange a time to speak OR including your CV and an email telling us a bit about the reasons you have for wanting to work with us right now and what you can bring to the role.
